Responsibilities

View English and Inuktitut version

Under the supervision of the NIHB Manager, the Interpreter/Translator assists patients through the health care system by providing translation services in English and Inuktitut, organizing patient transportation/accommodations and appointments, prepares monthly reports, and statistical record keeping.  This position is required to do on call rotation, shift work and if necessary may have to travel with patients.

 

 

Qualifications
  • Interpreter/Translator Program offered by Torngasok Cultural Institute or any combination of related training and experience.
  • Have own transportation.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to speak and write English and Inuktitut fluently.
  • Proficient computer skills including: Outlook, Microsoft Word & Excel
Assets

Bilingual in Inuktitut and English.
