Responsibilities

- Assist the Regional Energy Manager in implementing and tracking the progress of the Nunatsiavut Energy Strategy, supporting the development of action items and monitoring program milestones.
- Conduct research and introductory-level data analysis on energy security trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to support program planning and policy development.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate program progress, findings, and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the development and evaluation of policies and programs under the guidance of the Regional Energy Manager to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Assist with preparing proposals and supporting materials for funding applications, and support the tracking of grant deliverables and reporting requirements.
- Support relationship-building with community partners and assist with activities that help build local capacity related to energy security initiatives.
- Coordinate meetings and events, as required, to support collaboration with government departments and community stakeholders.
- Assist with monitoring and evaluation of program outcomes through data collection and analysis, contributing to continuous improvement of programs and initiatives.
- Participate in training opportunities and professional development programs to support building energy related knowledge and skills.
- Travel will be required.
- Other related duties as required by the Regional Energy Manager.
Qualifications
- Diploma in renewable energy, sustainability, environmental studies, public administration, business, or a related field with a minimum of 1 year of experience. An equivalent combination of professional training and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated interest in energy, sustainability, community development, or public service.
- Ability to conduct basic research, organize information, and contribute to written reports, summaries, and presentations, with guidance and support.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to share information clearly and work respectfully with diverse audiences.
- Understanding of Labrador Inuit culture and the five Inuit communities, or a demonstrated willingness to learn.
- Ability to work collaboratively with community members, government departments, and internal teams.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks while developing new skills on the job.
