Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development, planning and coordination of the Aullâsimavet project and resources:
  • Coordinate program delivery of families on the land.
  • Responsible for coordinating internal meetings with other Nunatsiavut Departments to integrate opportunities for the families while on the land to gather data, host cultural and language activities.
  • Overseeing and administering any budgets and reporting related to these projects. 
  • Gather and disemminate information gathered from families such as marine and air traffic info, new wildlife spotted, etc. data that is captured by families and provide it internally to NG for further distribution.
  • Develop annual evaluations of the program to enable improvements.
  • Coordinating specific training needs for families going out on the land.
  • Coordinate community engagement sessions in the 5 Land Claim communities to gain knowledge and ideas from community members.
  • Meet all targets and objectives as outlined in the project description
  • Training and inservicing as required.
  • Travel as required.
  • Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Diploma from a recognized institution with 5 years of related experience 
  • Knowledge of Inuit Culture, Language and Inuit Communities.
  • Demonstrate good oral, interpersonal, written communication and organizational skills. 
  • Working knowledge of MS Word/Excel/Windows.
  • Experience in working with office equipment.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Work as a member of a team.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
Assets
  • Bilingual in Inuktitut and English 
  • A Qualified beneficiary of the Labrador Inuit Land Claim Agreement
