Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cultural community program planning, organization and delivery of the Tupik Program 
  • Coordinate various cultural activities to be offered through the Tupik Program. This may include Inuttitut programming, seal skin cleaning workshops, socials, sewing groups, and story telling  
  • Gather information from community on programs they would like to see for the Tupik program
  • Create and promote a welcoming, safe environment for language and cultural programming to happen
  • Work with other departments and organizations to form partnerships for Tupik programming within community. 
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications
  • Community Studies Diploma or three (3) years equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. 
  • Knowledge and experience in Inuit cultural practices 
  • Demonstrate good oral, interpersonal and organizational skills. 
  • Work as a member of a team.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
Assets
  • A qualified beneficiary of the Labrador Inuit Land Claim Agreement.
  • Bilingual in Inuttitut and English.
  • Prior Supervisory experience
  • Experience in Project Coordination
