Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the Family Connections Manager, the primary role of the supervised access worker is to ensure a safe and secure environment for the child/ren and/or youth that are visiting with parents and/or other persons under an approved access plan.
  • To collaborate with the CSSD Social Worker and the family to ensure the access plan as approved by CSSD is implemented.
  • To supervise at home or another designate site, visits by the child/ren and or youth with their parents, family members and/or significant others. This includes monitoring and, if necessary, intervening with the parent and/or child who demonstrates inappropriate physical or verbal behaviors.
  • To provide to the CSSD Social Worker and Family Connections Program Manager in a timely manner and in the prescribed format supervised visitation reports, incident reports and all required documentation as per policy.
  • Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Must be capable of handling emergencies and ensuring the safety of children if necessary
  • High School Graduation with work experience in a related field
  • Class 5 Drivers Licence

  • Bilingual in Inuktitut and English
