Responsibilities
View English and Inuktitut version
- Ability to understand and interpret CSSD policies and standards, and its affiliated legislation
- Promote the Caring for our Children Project through partnerships, committee work, education sessions, presentations, etc.
- Establish a caring and professional relationship and a climate of mutual trust and respect for foster families, kinship and significant other placements
- Work in partnership with CSSD to support respective foster parents, kinship and significant other providers
- Maintain documentation in a confidential manner and complete necessary reporting requirements in a timely manner
- Demonstrate initiative, sound judgement, effective communication and relationship building
- Ability to deliver foster parent training
- Travel as required
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Social Work with current registration with the NLCSW
- Have extensive knowledge and experience within a child, youth and family services setting
- Have knowledge and experience working as a social worker within an Indigenous community
- Minimum 2 years work experience
- Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the employer
- Child Protection Record Check satisfactory to the employer
- Flexible work schedule
- Ability to travel
