Responsibilities

View English and Inuktitut version

  • Responsible for safekeeping, nutrition and health of the toddlers & infants.
  • Support the facilitation of daily Inuttitut Immersion teaching for Infants and families
  • Assist in preparing, supervising and participating in activities which enhance the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of toddlers and infants in the Language Nest
  • Assist in delivery of weekly Inuttitut class to parents
  • Provide a positive, fun and enthusiastic environment for toddler, infants and parents.
  • Build on Inuttitut fluency
  • Training as required
  • Travel as required
Qualifications
  • Early Childhood Education Diploma or Certificate, Preschool Orientation Course and one-year experience working with pre-school children, or minimum of 1-year experience in child care setting.
  • Willing to learn to teach and speak Inuttitut
  • Intermediate speaker in Inuttitut
  • Certificate of Good Conduct from the RCMP
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Excellent interpersonal, patience and nurturing skills
