Responsibilities
View English and Inuktitut version
- Lead Nunatsiavut Government participation in federal and provincial environmental assessments that affect Inuit or Labrador Inuit Lands.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of community and regional research studies and projects to support environmental assessment decision-making.
- Work with other Departments and partners to develop a process for the systematic documentation and archiving of Inuit Knowledge related to the environment for the purposes of supporting environmental awareness decision-making.
- Work creatively to increase capacity, understanding and community awareness of sustainable development in Nunatsiavut
- Complete administrative tasks associated with the day-to-day operations of environmental protection and sustainable development.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree in related field with a minimum of three years related experience
- Ability to assume responsibility, prioritize and meet deadlines, handle multiple and varied tasks, and delegate assignments
- Ability to communicate effectively with persons of a wide variety of backgrounds and skills, including community members, government employees, and industry representatives
- Excellent interpersonal/human relations skills
- Organizational and analytic skills
