Responsibilities

View English and Inuktitut version

  • Planning and conducting field patrols in and around community.
  • Inspecting and investigating public activities for adherence to relevant regulations.
  • Issue various departmental licenses and permits related to resource management. 
  • Collect, collate, update and maintain databases and computer files. 
  • Prepare written reports documenting activities, information, data and samples.
  • Respond to public inquiries and requests for information.
  • Ensure routine maintenance and care of equipment.
  • Provide advice to Departmental Management on specific resource management issues. 
  • Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Natural Resources from a recognized post-secondary institution, or a combination of education and related work experience
  • Excellent navigational skills
  • Class 5 Driver’s License 
  • Knowledge of traditional land use in Land Claim area
  • Excellent oral communication
  • Small Vessel Operator program and Marine Emergency First Aid an asset
