Responsibilities

  • Deliver community based food security programs that provide learning opportunities for program participants.
  • Plan and coordinate various community food programming in relation to identified needs.
  • Prepare food following safe food handling and sanitation guidelines.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of all food storage and food service areas including stove and refrigerators.
  • Maintain monthly inventory of food and supplies.
  • Purchase food using approved procurement process.
  • Program evaluation in the form of compiling & submitting monthly statistics and program activity reports to the Food Security Coordinator
  • Keep the public informed of various food programs & services using approved communications pathways.
  • Recruit and work with volunteers for food preparation.
  • Training and in servicing as required.
  • Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Commercial Cooking Programs with 1-2 years of related experience. Relevant education and/or experience will be considered Ability to prepare traditional foods.
  • Experience developing and delivering health related programs or projects.
  • Experience teaching others how to prepare food
  • Possession of a Valid Driver’s License
Assets
  • Bilingual in Inuktitut and English
