Responsibilities

- Planning community programming in relation to identified needs.
- Responsible for menu planning in accordance with Canada’s Food Guide and including traditional foods whenever possible.
- Overseeing the preparation of meals daily for large groups, following safe food handling and sanitation and guidelines.
- Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of all food storage and food service areas including stove and refrigerators.
- Recruiting and working with volunteers for food preparation.
- Maintaining monthly inventory of food and supplies.
- Program evaluation in the form of compiling & submitting monthly statistics and program activity reports to the Food Security Coordinator.
- Keeping the public informed of various food programs & services.
- Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Ability to prepare traditional foods
- Experience developing and delivering health related programs or projects
- Commercial Cooking Program Certificate, Community Studies Diploma, or equivalent experience
- Code of Good Conduct from RCMP
- Possession of a Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
