Responsibilities

View English and Inuktitut version

  • Lead Nunatsiavut Government participation in federal and provincial environmental assessments that affect Inuit or Labrador Inuit Lands.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of community and regional research studies and projects to support environmental assessment decision-making.
  • Work with other Departments and partners to develop a process for the systematic documentation and archiving of Inuit Knowledge related to the environment for the purposes of supporting environmental awareness decision-making.
  • Work creatively to increase capacity, understanding and community awareness of sustainable development in Nunatsiavut
  • Complete administrative tasks associated with the day-to-day operations of environmental protection and sustainable development.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate Degree in related field with a minimum of three years related experience
  • Ability to assume responsibility, prioritize and meet deadlines, handle multiple and varied tasks, and delegate assignments
  • Ability to communicate effectively with persons of a wide variety of backgrounds and skills, including community members, government employees, and industry representatives
  • Excellent interpersonal/human relations skills
  • Organizational and analytic skills
