Responsibilities
View English and Inuktitut version
- Deliver program of activities that foster their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social and Inuktitut language development.
- To ensure incorporation of the Inuit culture, values, traditions and to further enhance the child’s self-concept and self-esteem as well as a sense of Inuit pride.
- Organize childcare Centre activity areas and complete sanitization.
- Ensure the childcare programming are meeting the needs of the children and are reflecting Inuit culture
- Support children by engaging them in play through the Child Care Centre activity areas
- Meeting Needs of Children and relate to the sensitivities of children by demonstrating knowledge of inclusive practices. Ensure daily recording of pertinent information on children is carried out.
- Responsible for safety, nutrition and health of the children
- Familiar with program philosophy such as behavior guidance policy, daily schedule, and emergent curriculum, observation, and free play.
- Assist in plans that are developmentally appropriate for individual children as well as small/large group activities.
- Ongoing professional Development training to maintain AECENL certification.
- Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Early Childhood Education Certificate or Preschool Orientation Course with 1-year experience working with children
- Certificate of Code of Good Conduct and vulnerable Sector check.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Copy of Immunization Record
