Responsibilities

  • Responsible for menu planning in accordance with Canada’s Food Guide and the Provincial School Food Guidelines and including traditional foods whenever possible.
  • Overseeing the preparation of meals daily (or according to agreed upon schedule) for school aged children, following safe food handling and sanitation and guidelines.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of all food storage and food service areas including stove and refrigerators.
  • Maintaining monthly inventory of food and supplies.
  • Purchasing and arranging for food pick up including freight pick up.
  • Program evaluation in the form of compiling & submitting monthly statistics and program activity reports to the Food Security Coordinator
  • Training as required
  • Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Commercial Cooking Program Certificate
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to prepare traditional foods
  • Possession of a Valid Driver’s License
Assets
  • Bilingual in Inuktitut and English
