Responsibilities

- Responsible for menu planning in accordance with Canada’s Food Guide and the Provincial School Food Guidelines and including traditional foods whenever possible.
- Overseeing the preparation of meals daily (or according to agreed upon schedule) for school aged children, following safe food handling and sanitation and guidelines.
- Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of all food storage and food service areas including stove and refrigerators.
- Maintaining monthly inventory of food and supplies.
- Purchasing and arranging for food pick up including freight pick up.
- Program evaluation in the form of compiling & submitting monthly statistics and program activity reports to the Food Security Coordinator
- Training as required
- Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Commercial Cooking Program Certificate
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Ability to prepare traditional foods
- Possession of a Valid Driver’s License
Assets
- Bilingual in Inuktitut and English
