Responsibilities

  • Manage life cycle of the Home Repair Program that is offered by Nunatsiavut Government
  • Working with the Project Management team, including contractors to ensure the program meets its goals and objectives and stays on schedule
  • Manage the Emergency Repair Program until the program transitions to the Nunatsiavut Housing Commission. This includes administration of applications and coordinating repairs.
  • Compiling material orders for the repair programs for submission to Deputy Minister for final approval 
  • Oversee the finalization of the Nunatsiavut Housing Strategy.
  • Working closing with the Infrastructure Division on short-term and long-term plans to address housing in Nunatsiavut.
  • Working under the mandate of the Housing Act, the Manager is responsible for working with the Nunatsiavut Housing Commission to develop regulations and policies related to Housing.
  • Review new Programs and Policies developed by the NHC for recommendation to the First Minister and the Executive Council.
  • Compile and maintain data related to the repair programs 
  • Assist the Deputy Minister as a NG rep on the NHC as required
  • Sit as a NG rep as a stakeholder with the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation as it relates to NLHC housing and housing programs in Nunatsiavut Sit as the Nunatsiavut Government representative on the Inuit Nunangat Housing Caucus and to attend the Inuit Crown Partnership (ICPC) working group meetings
  • Review and make recommendations on National and Provincial Housing programs and Policy.
  • Travel as required 
  • Other Duties as required
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Business Management with 3-5 years of related experience. Combination of relevant education and/or experience will be considered. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision 
  • Knowledge of the Nunatsiavut region
