Responsibilities

• Planning community programming in relation to identified needs.

• Responsible for menu planning in accordance with Canada’s Food Guide and including traditional foods whenever possible.

• Overseeing the preparation of meals daily for large groups, following safe food handling and sanitation and guidelines.

• Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of all food storage and food service areas including stove and refrigerators.

• Recruiting and working with volunteers for food preparation.

• Maintaining monthly inventory of food and supplies.

• Program evaluation in the form of compiling & submitting monthly statistics and program activity reports to the Food Security Coordinator.

• Keeping the public informed of various food programs & services.

• Other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Ability to prepare traditional foods

• Experience developing and delivering health related programs or projects.

• Commercial Cooking Program Certificate, Community Studies Diploma, or equivalent experience.

• Code of Good Conduct from RCMP.

• Possession of a Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

Bilingual in Inuktitut and English
